Breathtaking scenes during the European Outdoor Film Tour - E.O.F.T.
"Hiking and outdoor activities are very trendy. People love to move around in the great outdoors. A walk in the woods is particularly stress-reducing. And in addition we have got in Germany with 11.4 million hectares forest and 90 billion trees outstanding possibilities”, describes Wolfram N. Diener, managing director of Messe Düsseldorf. Born in Freiburg in th South-Western part of Germany, Diener also enjoys exploring the Black Forest with his family in his free time, as well as the forests around his home of Düsseldorf. "I'm already looking forward to TourNatur 2019, where I can find out directly about family-friendly trails that children also enjoy hiking," he adds.
This makes the outdoor enthusiast’s show for destinations and equipment from 6 to 8 September in Hall 6 of the Düsseldorf Fair Center a real trendsetter. Under the motto "Experience Nature - Discover Your Natural Landscapes", the EUROPARC Deutschland association - www.europarc-deutschland.de - will be presenting itself at TourNatur 2019 in a major special show together with the Association of National Natural Landscapes - www.nationale-naturlandschaften.de - and the Association of German Nature Parks - www.naturparke.de - and showing the true treasure troves of nature. More than 100 of these treasures can be found in Germany - from the coast to the Alps. In the experience area, visitors get to know the diversity, tranquillity and fascination of hiking through nature parks and can gather valuable information for excursions. Under the motto "We live nature", the landscapes have come together to make people more sensitive for their environment. Photo boxes or digital tables with stories from the regions allow visitors to experience the parks and landscapes close to the nature. Another trend for relaxation in the forest, which visitors to TourNatur get to know, originally comes from Japan. “Shinrin Yoku", the traditional Japanese forest bathing, is not about hikes with top sporting performances, but about immersing oneself in the nature. The motto here is simply to relax your soul. Inner peace, relaxation and the strengthening of the immune system are to be reached by forest bathing.
The advice center is a popular meeting place for all active people. Under the direction of the well-known outdoor expert Ralf-Stefan Beppler, this year's round walk will explain what kind of clothing fits best for outdoor activities. The motto is: "There is no bad weather, just the wrong clothes". Current innovations in hiking boots, trousers, jackets, backpacks and hiking sticks will be presented. Shoes and sticks can be tested on the test track. Around the advice center there are stands with well-known brands from the outdoor industry - including Jack Wolfskin and Eddie Bauer with outdoor clothing, Lowa sports shoes and Ledlenser with high-quality LED pocket torches and headlamps.
The stand of the German Alpine Association (DAV) will be very sporty: At the climbing tower beginners can make their first attempts, but professional athletes can also demonstrate their skills. "We are very pleased that the DAV will be there with the climbing tower, because in 2020 in Tokyo sport climbing will be Olympic. We will certainly see some professionals with us", explains TourNatur Director Stefan Koschke.
In addition to the popular large presentations of the southern European hiking nations Greece, Spain and Portugal, the German destinations in the Alps and the low mountain ranges with attractive and rustic presentations, there will be exciting new arrivals in the tourism offer. For the first time at TourNatur in Düsseldorf is a travel operator, who is specialized in trekking in Africa. And Croatia joins the circle of regions in southern Europe with the Papuk National Park and its extensive forest area in the east of the country.
Also breathtaking are the scenes in the films of the European Outdoor Filmtour E.O.F.T., which on Friday, September 6, 2019, will again stop at TourNatur. Koschke: "The E.O.F.T. shows the real adventures. There is no script here and the people are authentic in their sports and in their experiences in the loneliest regions of the world. I'm really looking forward to the best outdoor and adventure films of the year." A visit to the E.O.F.T. screening on the Live Stage on Friday evening is included in the entrance fee to TourNatur. "A genuine increase in value for our visitors”, Stefan Koschke explains delighted.
