From Friday, everything will revolve around hiking, trekking and the experience of nature in hall 6 of Messe Düsseldorf. 250 tourism providers, manufacturers, dealers and destinations guarantee an exciting and entertaining trade fair and shopping experience until Sunday. Under the motto "Live the freedom", 5,000 destinations will be explored at the 16th TourNatur, interesting lectures will be given on the live stage, at the advice centre and the nature parks, or you can get active at the climbing tower of the German Alpine Club and the climbing park itself.
On all three days of the fair, professionals from the outdoor scene will guarantee breathtaking reports of spectacular tours on water and land. The whitewater kayaker and nature sports ambassador of TourNatur, Adrian Mattern, takes his spectators into gigantic rapids and steep waterfalls. The program of the live stage starts with the Heidelberg white water shooting star on 6 September at 10:30 a.m.. The German mountaineer Tom Belz will also present the European Outdoor Filmtour E.O.F.T. at the TourNatur on Friday from 6 p.m. on. The 32-year-old has been walking through life on just one leg and two crutches since he fell ill in childhood. The film "Mbuzi Dume" - "Fast Goat", named after his Swahili nickname, shows Belz climbing the 5,895 m high Kilimanjaro and stretching his crutches into the sky on Africa's highest peak. And on Saturday from 11:00 a.m. to 12:00 p.m., hiking pope Manuel Andrack will present "Germany's most beautiful hiking trails" and "Europe's most beautiful hiking villages" as well as on Sunday from 1:30 p.m. to 2:10 p.m. "Austria's most beautiful hiking regions" on the live stage.
In addition to spectacular tours into remote mountain regions, it is above all the natural landscapes that enchant people. On the TourNatur presents itself in a large special exhibition the federation EUROPARC Germany - www.europarc-deutschland.de - together with the union of the national natural landscapes - www.nationale-naturlandschaften.de - and the federation of German nature parks - www.naturparke.de. Under the slogan experience nature - discover your natural landscapes - they show the true treasure troves of nature. More than 100 of these treasures can be found in Germany - from the coast to the Alps. In the adventure area, visitors get to know the variety, tranquility and fascination of hiking through nature parks and can collect valuable information for excursions. Under the motto "We live nature", the landscapes have come together to sensitize people to their environment. Photo boxes or digital tables with stories from the regions allow visitors to experience the parks and landscapes close to nature.
TourNature Advice Center
Finding the right equipment for outdoor activities is not that easy. In the TourNatur Advice Center, recognized experts are therefore on hand to provide visitors with advice and assistance. The right footwear is the "Ah and Oh". Because even the coolest trousers, the most sporty shirt and the best condition won't carry you any further when your shoe pinches. The "shoe fitting machine", which Tecnica makes available to the advice center, helps here. If you want to have your feet measured before your autumn hiking holiday and get advice on the right shoe, you should definitely visit the TourNatur advice center. Once the blisters have run, the beautiful tours are over...
Equipment and Outdoor Fashion
In addition, the advice center also offers tips and information on all equipment for outdoor activities. And if you want to experience the adventure of spending the night under the stars, you can also try out sleeping bags and hammocks in the advice center.
You can also buy the latest outdoor fashion, shoes or high-quality LED torches and headlamps from well-known brands on the scene such as Jack Wolfskin and Eddie Bauer or Ledlenser at their stands.
Climbing on the TourNatur
Sporty and ambitious visitors are drawn to the climbing tower of the German Alpine Club (DAV). Beginners can start their first attempts here, but professional athletes can also demonstrate their skills. And maybe one or two climbers who want to qualify for the Olympic Summer Games 2020 in Tokyo will come by. Because then sport climbing will be Olympic for the first time. Meanwhile, the youngsters practice in the climbing garden and marvel at the athletes' top athletic performances.
Rally for children with 20 stations
But the little hiking fans don't just have fun climbing. For them, a visit to TourNatur is a real experience. There are 20 different stations at the rally for children, where the little ones can prove their skills and knowledge of nature. If they have collected six stamps, they can take part in the big daily raffle at 16:00 on the live stage. And there are really worthwhile prizes to be won: 100 Euro vouchers for a stay in the Rhenish youth hostels are the main prizes on Saturday and Sunday. On Friday, a voucher for a family admission ticket to the Panarbora Nature Adventure Park in Waldbröl is available. In addition, a pair of Lowa children's shoes, a hiking backpack from Osprey suitable for children, starter packages for canoe training and much more will be raffled off every day.
Hiking destinations all over the world
In addition to the popular national presentations of the southern European hiking nations Greece, Spain and Portugal, the German destinations in the Alps and the low mountain ranges with attractive, regional presentations, there will be exciting new arrivals in the tourism offer. For the first time on the TourNatur in Düsseldorf at the start is a travel offerer, who specialized in trekking tours in Africa. And Croatia joins the circle of regions in southern Europe with the Papuk National Park and its extensive forest area in the east of the country.

Breathtaking are the scenes in the films of the E.O.F.T., which on Friday, September 6, 2019, will stop again at the TourNatur. The E.O.F.T. shows the real adventures and outdoor heroes. There is no script here! The people are authentic in their sports and in their experiences in the loneliest areas of the world.
