TourNatur 2010: Destinations, Equipment and Consulting for Hikers
06/05/2010
Complete Offers for Germany's Favourite Recreational Pursuit
With 5,000 travel destinations, state-of-the-art equipment and consulting offers from 275 exhibitors, the Hiking and Trekking Fair TourNatur in Düsseldorf from 3 to 5 September offers everything imaginable for Germany's favourite recreational pursuit. There are 39.8 million active hikers in Germany who collectively travel 3.6 billion kilometres each year. Here, the right equipments is every bit as important as an attractive destination. At TourNatur – the only trade fair for hiking and trekking open to the public – hiking fans find a broad selection that is clearly divided into touristic and equipment sections. Simultaneously an extensive specialty programme for hiking tourism experts takes place during TourNatur.
The Right Destination for Everyone
Exotic far-away destinations are presented at TourNatur, as are the beloved Central German Uplands, hiking destinations in Austria, France and on the Mediterranean islands, as well as trails and recreational areas that are close to the city for day trips. All told, TourNatur unites approximately 5,000 hiking destinations under one roof. Visitors can gather information, purchase maps and book trips. Exhibitors will also create custom packages to meet individual requirements. Thanks to flexible mobility offerings and baggage transport, virtually no wish is left unfulfilled. The lectures on the "Rastplatz" stage deliver vivid impressions of trails and regions. In addition, trails are evaluated here and lectures on hiking with GPS navigation are offered.
Well Advised and Appropriately Equipped
While a good pair of hiking shoes and a backpack may be all you need for short tours, functional clothing and a good map are indispensable for longer hikes. GPS receivers, a tent and a walking stick could also be useful depending on the circumstances. Finding sensible and appropriate equipment is not easy and is a case for expert consultation. Visitors receive just that at TourNatur in the equipment centre "TourParcous". Here, independent hiking experts offer information on modern functional textiles and important pieces of equipment. They are also available to answer visitors' individual questions and offer tips on choosing the appropriate equipment. In Tent City various types of tents are pitched, while the Sensory Trail brings the forest into the exhibition halls.
